Cillian Murphy stars as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the theoretical physicist usually known as the “father” of the atomic bomb, in Christopher Nolan’s first biopic, Oppenheimer — and regardless of its completely stacked solid, this primary trailer places Murphy entrance and middle. Photographs of Murphy’s horrified Oppenheimer, murmuring ominously concerning the unprecedented energy he is helped deliver into the world, are intercut with summary slow-motion explosions, swirling particles, and numerous terrifying orbs and looming constructions.
“I do not know if we will be trusted with such a weapon,” he whispers. No spoilers, however let’s simply say he was famously a reasonably sensible man.
Oppenheimer additionally stars Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, and Robert Downey Jr., none of whom seem on this trailer. The movie opens in theaters July 21, 2023.
